Big Brothers/Big Sisters Trout Rodeo

Our annual trout rodeo for the Reading Big Bros/Big Sisters program took place May 20 in  cold and rainy weather. Hosted by the Foreman family in Oley and honoring Bob and Jeff Miller, every kid went home with a bag of big trout, and a new fishing rod (courtesy of Cabela’s) and tackle boxes (courtesy of Bob Keim) . Special thainks to Troy Merrell, WCO for the PFBC, for providing tackle for the kids, Hershey Harvest for the goodies, fhe Foremans for our ho tdog lunch and all of the volunteers who came to mentor the kids.

The lower Tully is running on the low side, and the DHALO stretch is fishing well with caddis imitations. On Delaware River, big stripers are being caught on the lower stretch; shad action is waning.
